Eat St. is heading to the “City by the Bay” to find a whole new selection of San Francisco treats.

We’re heading down the coast to San Francisco to sample the city’s most scrumptious street food. Join us as we hobnob with some of Frisco’s most inventive chefs and indulge in their mouthwatering signature dishes.

Sam's Team

Lewis Rossman is the award-winning Executive Chef/Partner for Samʼs ChowderMobile. He drew upon his background growing up among farms and wineries outside of Philadelphia and visits to beaches on the eastern seaboard to create the delicious food on his menu. Juan Hurtado is the Manager of Sam’s ChowderMobile and oversees the day-to-day operations. Rounding out the crew are Julie and Paul Shenkman, a pair of savvy business partners who have been recognized as leading culinary entrepreneurs in the Bay Area.

Menu Highlights

Samʼs Lobster Roll - Served “naked style”, this beloved sandwich features Maine lobster lightly tossed with butter and diced celery on a toasted artisan bun.


Sam’s Shrimp Poʼ Boy - Delicately fried shrimp with tomato, lettuce and special sauce on an artisan bun. Served with Old Bay Fries.

Sam’s Fish and Chips - Lightly beer-battered fish fried in cholesterol and trans-fat free oil and served with Sam’s famous French fries.

Sam’s Lobster Clambake - A huge wooden steamer box is used to cook the Clambake, loaded with fresh whole Maine lobsters (one per person), clams, mussels, red potatoes, fresh corn on the cob and savory Andouille sausage, and layered with special lobster seaweed flown in from Maine.

Jim Angelus is a veteran of the restaurant industry, having previously served as the general manager at San Francisco hotspot E&0. A true family man, he eventually abandoned the late nights of conventional restos to launch a food truck that would allow him to spend plenty of quality time with his new daughter.

The Burger – Two all-beef patties with bacon, sauteed onions and cheddar cheese.

Ryan Scott

Ryan Scott will instantly be recognizable to TV viewers. Hailed as a “celebuchef” by the Huffington Post, this former Top Chef contestant has become a mainstay on the small screen with a host of talk show appearances and cooking demos. When he isn’t on TV, this 30-year dynamo runs two restaurants and a catering operation and serves as the official face of Bon Appetitʼs new kitchen collection.

Corn Flake Crusted Fried Chicken Sandwich - The addictive corn-flake crusted fried chicken is complimented with Old Bay aioli, carrot-cabbage slaw, and pickles.

Mac ʻN Cheese Spring Rolls - Elbow macaroni and a variety of cheeses encased in paper-thin spring roll wrappers and then deep-fried. Served with a side of cheese fondue for dipping.

Phat Thai Cook

Phat Thai is a true family-run operation overseen by Wannee Hossain, a personal chef, caterer, and the mother of the truck’s owners Bobby and Alom. Her passion for cooking is evident in every delicious Thai dish she serves. Prior to launching Phat Thai, the family ran a successful Thai restaurant called Rama Thai from 2000-2003.

Menu Highlights

Pad Thai - Fresh stir-fried rice noodles with original homemade pad Thai sauce, tofu, egg, bean sprouts, green onion, cilantro and a choice of chicken, beef, prawns or just veggies.

Ka Pow - Minced chicken stir-fried, with Thai basil, red and green bell peppers, and Thai chilies served over rice.

Som Tum Salad - Shredded green papaya tossed with cherry tomatoes, carrots, Thai chilies, lime juice, and topped with crushed peanuts.

Fogcutter is the brainchild of Caroline Hummer and Guillermo Perez, a pair of foodies who came together over their mutual love of brunch. Hummer originally jumped into the food truck industry shortly after graduating from Berkley University. She cut her chops as one of the original operators of the pioneering Chairman Bao truck, which is where she met chef Perez. Perez is a 15-year veteran of the Bay Areaʼs fine-dining scene. He was also a former operator of Chairman Bao and launched another successful food truck, Eat Curbside, prior to Fogcutter.

Torta Mi - Fogcutterʼs take on the Vietnamese banh mi, featuring sweet and sour pork belly, fried egg, pickled daikon and carrots, cilantro and zesty lime aioli on a bollilo roll

Dolores Torta - Chorizo, sauteed bell peppers, pickled onion and lime aioli in a toasted bolillo bun with a fried egg and cilantro.

One of San Francisco’s most decorated chefs, Carlos Altamirano started his culinary career working in his motherʼs kitchen in southern Peru before coming to the Bay Area in 1994 to apprentice under some of the city’s top chefs. He has since opened three restaurants to great acclaim, one of which earned him a coveted Michelin star last year.

Pan Con Chicharron - Sliced pork loin, fried yams, salsa criolla and aji rocoto aioli.

Lomo Saltado - Stir-fried New York steak with tomato, onion cilantro, soy sauce and fries.

Yucca Fries - Yucca fries with huancaina sauce.

Pollo a la Brasa - Peruvian roasted chicken with tomato, lettuce and salsa anticuchera.

Tequeños - Fried wontons stuffed with ham and cheese, avocado puree and tamarindo sauce
