Pad Kee Mao

Dine at the Phat Thai truck and sample authentic pad thai, som tum salad and pad kee mao also known as ‘Drunken Noodles,’ a perfect hangover recipe.

3 cloves garlic
1 oz Thai chili
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 pound ground chicken
Noodles of your preference, cooked
Pinch sugar
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon fish sauce
2 cups broccoli, chopped & blanched
1 cup carrots, chopped & blanched
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped

Blend the garlic cloves and Thai chili in a food processor.

Heat the vegetable oil in a saucepan or wok on medium heat. Once heated, stir in the garlic and chili mix until it becomes light brown. Next, add the ground chicken until cooked. Mix in the noodles as well as the sugar, oyster sauce and fish sauce. Cook for 3 minutes, and then add the broccoli, carrots, and red and green bell peppers. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then serve.

Yield: 4 servings
