Recipe from: Rosa's Bella Cucina

Rosa's Bella Cucina in Burbank serves up a variety of Italian deli delights.

1 package active dry yeast
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon sugar
1 cup warm water
2 eggs
1-1/4 cups flour
1-1/2 cups corn oil
Confectioner’s sugar

Dissolve yeast, salt and sugar in water. Stir in eggs and flour, blending well. Cover and let rise in a warm area for 90 minutes, or until bubbly and doubled in size.

Heat oil in a shallow fry pan (6" diameter and 1" deep) to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Drop level tablespoons of dough into the oil, cooking four at a time. Fry each side for two minutes or until golden brown.

Drain well on paper towels, sprinkle with confectioner’s sugar while hot. Serve warm.
